Cadence Financial Management is seeking a dynamic and driven Retirement Plan Associate to service and grow our corporate consulting practice. This role plays a critical part in supporting retirement plan clients, including qualified plan sponsors, fiduciaries, key executives in nonqualified plans, and plan participants. Our clients include 401(k), 403(b), defined benefit, nonqualified plans, and financial wellness programs. This is a hybrid role with flexibility, opportunities for professional development, and possible equity ownership.
Key Responsibilities
Client Relationships and Strategic Advice
Earn and maintain clients’ trust by understanding their needs, offering tailored advice, and delivering exceptional experiences.
Regularly consult with assigned clients to maintain a positive relationship and proactively uncover opportunities to improve plan operations.
Maintain a firm understanding of clients' retirement plan objectives, design, and daily operations.
Develop a high-touch client relationship system
Plan Operations and Administration
Help maintain the efficient and effective operation of retirement plans to meet plan sponsors’ desired outcomes.
Serve as the primary contact to address operational challenges and execute results.
Lead retirement plan committee meetings and provide comprehensive updates on plan performance and compliance.
Problem Solving
Address complex issues related to committee structure, plan design, payroll, administration, compliance testing, mergers and acquisitions, employee communication strategies, and RFPs.
Escalate highly complex issues to senior advisors as necessary and participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance client satisfaction.
Employee Engagement and Education
Design, coordinate, and implement employee education programs.
Work with advisory team to coordinate meetings when necessary.
Client Acquisition and Retention
Onboard new clients and coordinate vendor changes seamlessly.
Participate in client sales, framing value-added solutions to drive client outcomes.
Key Competencies and Skills
Entrepreneurial drive with a focus on delivering value-added solutions.
Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
High standard of professionalism and the ability to work independently.
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe, and Client Relationship Management (CRM) software.
Foundational knowledge of retirement plans and executive compensation plans such as Defined Contribution, Defined Benefit, Nonqualified, Equity Awards, and Stock Plans.
Project management and account management experience preferred.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree required; majors in Business Administration, Marketing, or Finance preferred.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in the retirement plan industry.
Securities licenses (e.g., Series 65, 66, 7) and professional designations (e.g., CFP, CIMA, CFA, CRPS, QKA) are a plus.

Work Flexibility and Compensation
This role is eligible for full-time remote work. Periodic travel is required. Base salary range:
$55,000 - $70,000
